How To Donate Blood
Who can donate blood?
The law states that you must be 17 years
of age and weigh at least 110 lbs.
You can't have a cold, sore throat, flu, or active allergy
symptoms.
Is it safe?
For the safety of the donor and those who
receive blood, the donor's medical history is taken
to assure that all risks of disease transmission are
assessed. A nurse checks the donor's blood pressure,
temperature, pulse, and iron level.
How long does it take?
The whole process takes a little more than
an hour. Appointments will speed up the process.
How does my blood donation help others?
The blood you donate is used in local hospitals.
Your donation can save the life of a loved one
or someone in your community.
